What is a Dirt Trapper Mats made of?
Dirt Trapper mats are made from a cotton rich pile with a rubber backing.
How do I wash a Dirt Trapper Mats?
Dirt Trapper mats can either be hand or machine washed up to 30°C using a colour kind non-biological detergent without bleaching agents/optical brighteners, as this helps to preserve the colour of the mat. Please do not add fabric conditioner or use washing liquids/capsules/ powder with added conditioner as it reduces the absorbency of the cotton pile of the mat. We recommend washing your Dirt Trapper Mats regularly to improve the absorbency of your mat. When washing check the filters on your machine as directed by the manufacturer and also check the load limit on your machine, as large Dirt Trapper Mats can be heavy when wet. Dirt Trapper mats are super absorbent and in some instances you may need to double spin your mat. If you have a large drum machine, you may need to re-position your mat for it to effectively spin.
Why do you recommend I wash my Dirt Trapper Mats before use?
All mats have been washed once already before they reach you but would benefit from a second wash to raise the pile. Like many cotton pile products (towels for example) absorbency is improved when the product is completely free of any yarn 'dressing'.
How thick is a Dirt Trapper Mat?
A Dirt Trapper mat is 7mm (1/4") thick - if you can fit your little finger in the gap between your door and the floor then your Dirt Trapper mat should fit no problem.
Am I able to cut my Dirt Trapper Mat?
You can cut your mat, but we cannot accept responsibility for any incidents that may occur as a result of the mat being cut or trimmed and, consequently, you will lose your right to claim against the guarantee.
Are Dirt Trapper Mats recommended for use on specialist flooring?
The rubber gripper backing on our Plain Dirt Trapper Mats can be used on both hard-flooring and carpets, whilst the latex backing on our Design Dirt Trapper Mats can be used on hard-flooring only. However, for any specialist flooring types such as Laminate flooring, Karndean flooring etc. please check with the manufacturer before using any latex or rubber backed mats. We cannot accept responsibility for any damage to flooring.
